Chocolate chestnut sponge with chestnut, honey & cardamom infused creme

You know what’s more tempting than revising for a mid-semester exam? A whole bunch of fresh chestnuts on your living room floor.

And you know what’s more scrumptious than freshly roasted chestnuts out of the oven? When you add it to your favourite, ever reliable flourless chocolate sponge recipe.

Last question, what was the only thing that stopped me from making this earlier than my chestnut cookies?…Because my dear mother became addicted to watching My Kitchen Rules on television and made the biggest chocolate and wine pear cake ever (and according to her, what sealed the deal to make was because it apparently had the seal of approval from MANU and his French accent) and it took the help of a neighbour and 2 friends to polish it all off. Did I mention that she’s pretty generous with her offerings?
