Wales Wrapped Up


It was with mixed feelings that we packed up our panniers in Conwy on Sunday morning to head to the train station.  We made the decision to return to Cheltenham and leave our bikes at the Packards for the Scotland leg of our trip. The decision was based mainly on the fact that most of the sites we are planning to see in Scotland are long train rides between each other and there will be few opportunities for cycle days. Also, Wayne’s cold is still lingering and I am tired of riding in the cold, wet, wind. But we are going to miss the cycling that allows a different intimacy with the countryside than trains can provide.

A few words on the cycling in the changeable Wales weather (or anywhere, for that matter)…
We did find that the weather forecasts were quite accurate and each day we expected a cool…
