Tattoos are art. They are a form of self-expression and a way to keep the memory of something you treasure alive. They come in all shapes and sizes and each one has a story on its own. All over the world, getting a tattoo is viewed as a personal choice. In Egypt, on the other hand, due to cultural and religious reasons, having a tattoo is frowned upon. It is often associated with negative traits such as ill mannered, prostitute, or someone who was not raised right. Egypt, a predominantly Muslim country, believes that one’s body belongs to god and you must take care of it for him. Getting a tattoo would be harming the gift that god gave you which shows ungratefulness.
