Stewed rhubarb in heaven


The leaves attached to the rhubarb stalk are poisonous, that is why they are always discarded from the fruit when you buy them at the local market.

Preparation time : 10 minutes + 1 hour
Cooking time : 25-30 minutes
Serves : 4

You can easily use only rhubarb for this recipe, but I think it’s even tastier with added fruits:

  • 520 g of rhubarb
  • 1 apple ( choose a sweat one to reduce the acidity of the rhubarb)
  • approx. 15 strawberries
  • brown sugar
  • 1 tsp of vanilla extract
  • tap water

Start off this easy recipe by pealing the skin off the rhubarb stalks and chopping them into small pieces.
Place them into a bowl that can go into your fridge, top them with brown sugar and pop it into the fridge for 1 hour.
Peal the apple and discard the seeds.
