Zombie apocalypse. Great depression. World War. No problem. Everything will be alright – we’re in Cape Town, land of fine weather, spectacular scenery, and natural beauty like nowhere else. What luck!

Tafelberg Road boasts views of Lions Head, Signal Hill, Robben Island, the harbour, the city bowl, Hottentots-Holland Mountains, Cape Flats, False Bay and Devils Peak. It runs over 6 km from west to east along the north face of Table Mountain.

The road is usually congested with traffic and visitors flocking to the cableway and hiking trails. However, sanctity exists from the 4.1 km mark where the street has been closed for over 10 years due to rock slides. Hikers and cyclists now own the ±2 km eastern section of the road and there is plenty to see.
