Denmark- Copenhagen


Copenhagen is the capital and most populated city of Denmark, with an urban population of 1,263,698 (as of 1 January 2015). It is situated 164 km (102 mi) east of Odense and 28 km (17 mi) northwest of Malmö, Sweden. The city stretches across parts of the island of Amager and contains the enclave of Frederiksberg, a municipality in its own right.

Founded as a fishing village in the 10th century, Copenhagen became the capital of Denmark-Norway in the early 15th century and nowadays is considered by some to be the best city to live in.

Statistics from 2013 show that 77.3% of the population of Copenhagen Municipality (central Copenhagen) were of Danish origin, 8.1% immigrants and  descendants from Western countries and 14.6% from non-Western countries.
