Red currant cake with sour-cream glaze

Such Yummy Stuff

Oh I love summer. This is exactly the time when I succeed in balancing my mind – first of all, this includes having a proper sleep (be attentive here – I don’t mean sleeping till the lunch time. I literally hate waking up late. So I rise and shine at around 7:30 a.m. even when I am completely free from the daily duties). Another crucial part of a perfectly balanced day  is helping myself to a nice breakfast. I personally love the oatmeal with natural peanut butter and berries ❤ But today I went for varying my usual morning menu, as there was something tempting in the fridge (walnut-and-dried fruits bread). I could not resist buying that guy! I just accidentally bumped into it in the shop and he left me no chances.. I already started dreaming of sandwiches with berries and peanut butter.. So I surrendered and had these sandwiches…

Buttercream shmuttercream

Whisk+Batch

Buttercream seems like an innocent word. It’s tasty, comes in a ton of varieties, makes beautiful cakes, but there’s just something about it that doesn’t excite me, it actually kind of makes me grumpy. Whenever I go to make a cake I almost never design it so that I can use buttercream, but that doesn’t stop me from thinking “one day I will make this cake” and pinning  every gorgeous buttercream cake I can find. How to Grow a Beautiful Lawn Naturally

Daily Post Photo Challenge: Details

Anyway, my daughter and I stood watching bees hovering all over these flower bushes.  We both attempted to take photographs of them.  I know – I’m horrible.  That is the most detailed I get when describing flowers.  I love them to death, but have a huge gap in knowing what their names are!  My apologies.

I was hovering over this flower and got the opportunity to watch these two fight over the flower.  The smaller one would climb inside and the bee would try…

Generation Lost: Why Your Grandma Had More Dates Than You

Weekend in Brussels!

WE Travel Correspondent Blog

After about six weeks of living a cheap lifestyle and watching every pence I spend, I figured I deserved a vacation. Last weekend my flatmate and I packed a bag of snacks (the most important travel companion) and set off to Victoria coach station. We had been talking about doing a trip to somewhere nearby and Tanisha had said that more than anything she wanted another stamp in her passport. That ruled out Scotland and Wales (even though we had already sneaked in a cheeky day trip to Newport) and left us with Britain’s neighbors.

Dublin proved too expensive even by bus. Places like the Netherlands and Germany and southern Europe were best gotten to by plane and booking a week in advance wasn’t feasible on our budgets. So we were facing (emotionally and geographically) a hop over the channel into France. But, we weren’t quite ready to take on…
